Bio Rad Labs to launch two key research equipments in India soon

Bio-Rad Laboratories Inc., a 100 per cent subsidiary of Bio-Rad Laboratories USA, a leading manufacturer and distributor of life science research and clinical diagnostics products, will be launching two of its research equipments, Mini Protean Tetra and Profinia in India. The company's plan is to market the products this month. Talking to Pharmabiz, Siddarth Puranik, marketing manager, said, "We have decided to launch Mini Protean Tetra and Profinia in India. We have already introduced these products in the international market recently. We are in talks with some protein companies for marketing the products. We are also planning to launch another two to three new products in the Indian market in the next month". Mini-Protean Tetra Cell 1-D electrophoresis mini-gel system has become the solution of choice around the world, for both handcast and precast gel users. The Mini-Protean Tetra cell delivers unparalleled ease-of-use with its patented clamping frame. It accommodates from 1 to 4 handcast or ready gel precast gels. Its patented sample loading guides prevent skipping or repeated loading of lanes. The Tetra system also simplifies the process of casting and running gels by eliminating tedious assembly procedures. Interchangeable modules allow a Mini-Protean Tetra cell to move from one application to another quickly and easily. Each module fits into the same buffer tank and lid to form a complete cell. This complete system replaces traditional gravity-flow techniques for the purification and desalting of affinity-tagged proteins. The Profinia protein purification system yields purified samples for downstream use in as little as 30 minutes. The instrument is compact and takes up minimal benchspace by housing all reagent bottles, fraction and sample tubes, and tubing within the unit. The pre-programmed methods, easy-to-use interface, and optimised kits combine to produce a system that requires very little training or expertise to use. Commenting on price list Siddarth, said, "We haven't decided the price list for the Indian market. But within a week we will make price list for the remaining three products also. The company is all set to ready to release ProteinChip SELDI system and ProteOn XPR36 Protein." The ProteinChip SELDI system uses surface-enhanced laser desorption ionization (SELDI) technology to detect and calculate the mass of proteins and peptides. The system integrates ProteinChip arrays, a ProteinChip reader, ProteinChip software, and a personal computer to analyse samples based on measured time-of-flight (TOF).
