Asian Heart Institute receives JCI, ISO: 9001 - 2000 and NIAHO accreditation

Asian Heart Institute (AHI) of Mumbai, a leading hospital in cardiac care, has received accreditation from JCI, one of the reputed international hospital accreditation agencies. AHI is the only Hospital outside USA to have JCI, ISO: 9001-2000, National Integrated Accreditation for Healthcare Organization (NIAHO) Accreditations. JCI has extensive experience working with public and private healthcare organizations and local governments in more than 50 countries. JCI is a subsidiary of the most trusted name in accreditation - the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations. For more than 75 years, the Joint Commission and its predecessor organization, The American College of Surgeons, have been dedicated to improving the quality of health care organizations in the United States and around the world. The hospital has been designed as per the guidelines from Cleveland Clinic Foundation, USA to ensure International Standards. It is a Patient - Centric design with stress on safety and comfort of the patients. AHI achieved a low rate of mortality in the world which is 0.4 per cent in isolation bypass surgery and treated more than 50,000 patients over three years which is one of the highest volumes recorded in the country. It is also one of the few centres globally doing nearly 100 per cent total bypass surgery on beating heart and total arterial grafting. The doctors here have successfully performed over 10,000 angiographies and 2000 angioplasties including complex angioplasties, multi-vessel angioplasties and aortic aneurysms. AHI is the first hospital in the country to successfully use Cardiac Recovery System to save life of terminal heart failure patients. Its has achieved a surgical success rate of 99.5 per cent in isolated bypass surgery. More than 95 percent patients receive total arterial grafts which are far superior to vein grafts.
