Yos Technologies, a healthcare technology company is gearing up to introduce YosCare, an e-Health Gateway in July. YosCare is an electronic repository of patient information which is a HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) compliant with Heath Level 7(HL7) interfaces for provider systems interconnectivity. The company has already inked a pact with a leading hospital in Bangalore for the first installation and is in discussion with a leading pharmacy chain. The product will find suitable applications in Tier 1-2 hospitals besides diagnostic labs and pharmacy chains. Medical decisions are based on well-documented, current and accurate information to ensure right diagnosis. 'YosCare' is a secure consumer-owned Personal Health Record (PHR) system which can be accessed anytime, anywhere using internet or mobile. It is a patient-centric system containing all relevant patient records explained Vijaya Verma, Founder and CEO, Yos Technologies. The PHR will maintain a record of allergies, medications, diagnosis, and health history. Hospitals with YosCare can share the PHR information with doctors without having to rely on paper records or memory especially during an emergency. Patients can access test reports online and avoid repeat visit to the lab or to the doctor. The prescription can be shared with chemists online to allow home-delivery of medicines. Also patients can receive mobile alerts for appointments, report collection, medicine purchase. The solution also interconnects hospitals about the patient with a secure e-health account. YosCare solution is not a Hospital Management System but will interface with an HIS (hospital information system), stated Verma adding that only an internet connectivity is required to provide improved simplified 'Point of Care' access. There is minimal upfront investment for providers to install YosCare because this server is remotely hosted as an ASP (application service provider) model. All that is needed is a system with high speed internet connectivity. As the provider starts using the system, they will be charged based on usage of YosCare services, stated Verma. For the future, Yos Technologies is working to create a Universal Health Portal for consumers, which is a 'Go-To' site for any health related details. It will not only track and monitor health records and provide the latest information on diseases but allow health related social networking) and provide information on doctors/labs/chemists besides an 'Ask-the-doctor' with those medical practitioners who are YosCare connected. For the healthcare providers, the company is working on an end-to-end disease/condition management programme through advanced software applications which will include diabetes care, pre and post natal care, geriatric care. It is also working on a School Health Programs to track and monitor health of children through their schools through its Paediatrics Care Applications, and Risk Assessment and Wellness Management Applications.
