Institute of Clinical Research (India), the country's premier clinical research institute, has achieved 100 per cent placements for its first batch. The students have been placed in leading multinational CROs like Merck, Novo Nordisk, Novartis, Accenture and Indian companies like Jubilant and Nicholas Piramal with annual salaries ranging from 2 lakh to 6 lakh plus. According to Dr S K Gupta, dean and director general, Institute of Clinical Research (India), "The burgeoning need for trained professionals in this segment and our courses being at par with the industry needs is reflected in the placements of our students. ICRI aims to nurture and create an environment of learning, and implement international standards in the interests of clinical research students. This is to ensure India meets the global expectations as an emerging clinical research destination." The ICRI placement division has updated information of the industry requirements. The dedicated placement team works towards informing the industry about the teaching methodology and ICRI courses. The division offers prospective employers a one-stop destination for their current and future relationships with the Institute. As a result of these efforts, many big organisations have also shown exemplary interest in recruiting students from ICRI. The Institute also has a special pre-placement preparation program to provide valuable career guidance to students and help them with career opportunities in the best organisations, with improved roles and responsibilities, and world-class remunerations. Writing an effective resume in compliance with the clinical research industry, training on how to face interview boards, personality development, communication skills and mock interviews form an integral part of the program. It also grooms the students by enhancing their analytical acumen, problem-solving skills and ability to work as a team. Since clinical research is now a global industry serving global requirements, educational institutions involved with programs in clinical research need to have a curriculum, which match the high standard requirements of CRO's worldwide. ICRI has collaborated with Cranfield University, UK - Europe's academic centre for strategic and applied research. This partnership marked the beginning of ICRI's endeavour to give a global magnitude to clinical research learning in India and reinforce commitment towards academic credentials which has yielded results. ICRI currently operates from four campuses in Mumbai, Delhi, Ahmedabad and Bangalore, and is supported by excellent faculty drawn from the best in the industry.
