Dubai to host PABME in April 2008

The Middle East is all set to host its only forum for the global pharma and biotech industries, Pharmaceutical Manufacturing and Biotechnology Middle East, from April 27 to 29, 2008. Organised under the aegis of IIR, this conference cum exhibition event will be held at Dubai. Companies from around the globe are expected to participate in this mega pharma event. According to the organisers, Pharmaceutical Manufacturing and Biotechnology Middle East (PABME) is held with an objective of attracting the global pharmaceutical manufacturing industry to the Middle East. The regional pharma companies have already gained significant investments especially into the established markets such as the Levant, North Africa, Iran and GCC states. PABME 2008 is expected to apprise the global pharma companies of developments taking place in the Middle East pharma industry and pave way for possible synergies. Presently, more than 450 pharmaceutical manufacturers are operating in the Middle East and the market is valued at over US $18 billion. This market is growing at a rate of 10 per cent per annum. According to IIR, the Middle East market for pharmaceutical manufacturing and biotechnology is valued at over US $28 billion with a double-digit growth annually.
