Carestream Health to launch new products in dental, radiography segments in 2008

Carestream Health India, a subsidiary of Carestream Health, Inc, a leading provider of dental and medical imagine systems, is introducing a few new products for the dental, radiography and dry laser segment in the first quarter of 2008. Speaking with Pharmabiz, Mohan Nadkarni, director and country business unit manager, said, "We are planning to launch couple of new products in the mid of 2008. Our ongoing R&D investment is approximately $130 mn annually has produced state of the art imagine and healthcare information technology products. Recently, we have launched our two major products, namely, The Kodak DryView 6800 Laser Imager and Kodak Point-of-Care CR 260 System in the domestic market. We are catering to the demands of smallest clinics as well as large hospitals". The Kodak DryView 6800 Laser Imager is a high quality, easy to use dry laser imager. It provides up to 200 films per hour and TTFP in 60 seconds and high resolution 650 pixels per inch for all printing applications requiring films for diagnosis. It gives up to three film drawers supporting five different film sizes. It also have optional five-bin film sorter and DICOM connectivity to virtually all modalities This affordable laser imager is ideal for computed radiography (CR), digital mammography (FFDM and CR), CT, MRI, DR, PACS, workstations and other grayscale film applications. The Kodak Point-of-Care CR 260 System is an affordable computed radiography solution for medium-size healthcare facilities and clinics. It is designed to enhance workflow and help to improve productivity. The CR 260 System can complement centralised CR and DR environments, serve as a backup or overflow system, and perform in decentralised capture environments such as clinics, ER, and OR departments. All imaging functions can be performed at the point of patient care with this compact package that includes a single-plate CR reader, Kodak flexible phosphor screens, and a PC-based review station. It provides up to 60 plates of 35 cms x 43 cms cassette per hour, with optional high-resolution scanning modes for even greater flexibility. Carestream Health India has a comprehensive portfolio of image information products, services applications and integrated systems, as well as the latest x-ray films, laser films, computed radiography system and medical laser. According to company's spokesperson said, nearly two out of five CR systems sold in the US and Canada are from the Carestream Health. The company manufactures both CR and DR system. It has more than 8100 employees serving tens of thousands of customer in 150 countries. Few months back company began operation as an independent company. Which has over 1000 patents in digital and film imagine and IT, its product portfolio and broad global sales service distribution capabilities is 90 per cent comes from hospital and dental practices. While talking company's financial projection, Nadkarni said, "As our 75 per cent revenues comes from the products which enjoys a number one market position. Our digital portfolio constitutes more than 50 per cent business and it is going steadily. We touched Rs 175 crore turnovers in the last fiscal and we expect to achieve double digit growth in the coming fiscal."
