Bilcare plans clinical research facility in Wales

The Pune based pharmaceutical packaging company Bilcare is planning to set up a new clinical supplies facility in South Wales. Ajit Dubhashi, Bilcare's president of Asia Pacific said the company has aggressive plans for Europe. Bilcare acquired DHP, a clinical supplier last fiscal. The proposed facility will employ 150 people in Wales. The investment will enable Bilcare to expand its presence in Wales and cater to the needs of its customers in Western Europe and parts of Eastern Europe. With University research excellence, good availability of key skills from laboratory staff through to PhDs superior infrastructure and a network that links companies, academics and government together, Wales is an ideal location for Bilcare to service the European market at a competitive cost, the company said in a press statement. "Wales is an ideal location for companies in the pharmaceutical and biosciences space. The Welsh economy is driven by high technology sectors like biotechnology, opto electronics, and aerospace. Wales is strategically located to provide a true gateway to the rest of Europe," stated the deputy first minister of the Welsh Assembly Government leuan Wyn Jones, who is currently leading a delegation of Welsh companies in India. Indian companies in Wales include, Bilcare, BUI Pvt Ltd Universal Batteries, Tata Steel, Indo Fuji: TCS and wockhardt.
