Micro Labs bags IDMA quality excellence awards

Karnataka's leading formulation and bulk drug major, Micro Labs, has bagged the prestigious IDMA Quality Excellence Award for two of its facilities for the year 2007. The company's multi- dosage forms facility at Goa and the ophthalmic dosage form facility at Bommasandra, Bangalore have accomplished this feat competing among 600 members of the Indian Drug Manufacturers Association. It has won the awards in the 'above Rs. 100 crore' category. It has been bagging similar honours in the past according to company sources. Micro Labs has 12 facilities in south India. At Hosur in Tamil Nadu and Peenya in the outskirts of Bangalore have two facilities each. At Bommasandra in the outskirts of Bangalore it has three units. It also has one plant each at the Veerasandra Industrial Area in Bangalore, Kumbalgod in Mysore, Pondicherry, Goa and Baddi in Himachal Pradesh. The facilities have also been inspected and approved by international agencies including UK MHRA , MCC, South Africa and is now gearing up to get US FDA approval. The company has a full-fledged analytical R&D facility in Bangalore and a Basic R&D centre at Mumbai.
