Venus Remedies opens new R&D centre at Baddi

Venus Remedies Ltd has inaugurated the sixth and last phase of its Rs 150 crore expansion project, its state of the art and hi-tech and elaborate research facility, "Venus Medicine Research Centre" at its Baddi Campus on January 14, 2008. This new R&D centre, which has been set up with an investment of approx. Rs 250 million, is spread over 40,000 sq. feet built up area in the Baddi campus of the company. It is proposed to be driven by a team of 50 intellectuals, including 25 scientists, pharmacists, chemists, analysts and technicians. The centre has 7 dedicated pilot plants, built as per latest international standards for conducting trial production of injections in super specialty segments and eight fully equipped laboratories to cater for all kinds of testing in-house. This R&D centre will further strengthen the research capabilities of the company and help in building a stronger pipe line of solutions for diseases for which there is no treatment as on date. The company plans for accreditation of this centre with the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India as well as securing other certifications to build the intellectual wealth of the company. With this inauguration, the company is through with its 6 phase expansion programme started in April 2005. In the last 33 months, the company has created sufficient infrastructure to meet its target for 2010 with the setting up of Eight new dedicated manufacturing plants for injectible at Baddi duly accredited by European GMP, ISO 9001, 14001 and 18001 and numerous other international Quality certifications and a modern Research Centre at Baddi campus and one infusion manufacturing unit at Panchkula, all built as per international benchmark. The company is now ready to venture in overseas market with its EU-GMP certified facilities and innovative products.
