KIMMA elects J.S.D.Pani as its president

J.S.D.Pani has been unanimously elected as president of the Karnataka Indian Medicine Manufacturers' Association (KIMMA). Election to the Excecutive Committee and Office bearers of KIMMA was held on January 26, 2008 at Bangalore. KIMMA represents the Ayurveda Drug Manufacturers in the State. There are about 160 Ayurveda Drug Manufacturers in the State and most of them are small and tiny units. Other Office bearers are P.Jagadeesh Nayak; Hon Secretary, RD Raikar Vice President, Ravindra N Joshi, Joint Secretary and R. Anandakumar Treasurer. Addressing the members after the election Pani said that KIMMA will lobby with the Union government for an ayurveda cluster facility in Bangalore under Central Sponsored Scheme. This will help the small and tiny manufacturers to utilize the manufacturing and testing facilities that will be made available in the cluster. For the project, KIMMA has already identified the land required to house the cluster near Jigani Industrial Area in the outskirts of Bangalore.
