BTIC: A boost to biomedical business

To promote the advanced biotech business and entrepreneurship in India, Department of Biotechnology New Delhi, Government of Andhra Pradesh and Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (IICT) Hyderabad have jointly floated Biotechnology Incubation Centre (BTIC) at the SP Biotech Park in the Genome Valley, Hyderabad. This world-class laboratory with healthy environment would offer biotech start up companies an opportunity to play a crucial role in biotechnology development, human resource development, awareness in Hyderabad and neighbouring areas and encourage investments. This collaboration partnership is anticipated to accelerate the biotech industries and biotech initiative with high growth. According to the brains behind this venture, BTIC would help all biotech innovators, entrepreneurs and start-up companies to shape up their idea and thought for commercially viable products and sustain as a beginning platform with high potential in the international arena. This facility will particularly focus on biomedical related businesses, including biopharmaceuticals, herbal medicine, regenerative medicine, alternate medicine, health and dietary supplements, biocides, biomaterials, molecular and conventional diagnostics, the genome oriented customised medicine and biocosmetics production. Apart, this centre is expected to support a wide range of comprehensive and synergistic services for incubating new biotech industries and offer suitable environment for their sporadic growth from bench to commercial level. The companies that join BTIC will not only get the customised road map and consultation, but also are accessible to all resources, space and facilities that are required for their all round development in competitive biotech market. Also, this new venture would provide the administration, market information and recruiting services, technology management and training courses. BTIC is established mainly to generate development of huge human resources required for biotech and pharmaceutical industries and for providing training in a furnished and equipped laboratory with an international environment.
