CII to organise meet on packaging in Chennai on June 27

The Confederation of Indian Industry- Southern Region (CII-SR) is organizing a one day national seminar on packaging in Chennai on June 27. The seminar is titled "Packaging technology for building competitiveness". The conference would highlight on the latest developments in packaging of processed foods, ecological issues related to plastics; alternative to plastic packaging; changes in pharmaceuticals and chemicals packaging in order to enhance value; packaging as the toll to improve brand equity; ergonomics issues on packaging and correlation between customer needs and changes in packaging, according to a CII press communiqué. The conference would have sessions on packaging technology, innovation, consumer's rights and eco-friendly packaging. The meet would also have a panel discussion on "Pulse of the Consumer Needs, Leads to Change in Packaging," the communiqué stated. Prominent speakers at the conference would include Dr. Sushil Verma, director-general, CIPET; Gautham Buddha, head - packaging development, Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd; Shombit Sen Gupta, chairman, Shining Management & Brand Consultancy; Dr. S. Ghosal, centre head, National Institute of Design; Ashok Banerjee, deputy director and head - environment divison, Indian Jute Industries Research Association; and U Jayaraj Rau, vice president and client services director, Hindustan Thompson Associates Ltd. B.L. Raina, managing director, Tinplate Company of India Ltd (TCIL), an associate company of Tata Steel , would be delivering the key note address .
