The Hyderabad-based multi-specialty corporate hospital, Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS), as part of the third phase development will add 400 beds at an estimated investment of Rs 300 crore, it is learnt.
According to the hospital sources, in the third phase of development it will invest Rs 300 crore. It is learnt that funding for the same will be raised through loan from the Andhra Bank. The hospital, which has already completed first two phases, has added 200 beds in the first phase and 100 beds in the second phase of development. The construction of third phase has already started and is expected to be ready in another two and a half years.
Speaking to Pharmabiz, Dr B Bhaskar Rao, CEO, KIMS, said, "We are in the process of putting up an additional 400 beds in our existing facility in Hyderabad. The work of the same has already started and will be operational in two and a half years." Commenting on the occupancy level, he said, "Our occupancy rate is 80 per cent".
KIMS, promoted by the hospital chain Bollineni Group of Hospitals, has been established with international standards using cutting edge technology and is managed by a group of highly qualified doctors and health care professionals. The Bollineni Group of Hospitals already has its presence in Nellore, Rajahmundry and Cuddapah in Andhra Pradesh. KIMS, with cardiology, nephrology, orthopaedics care and paediatrics as core departments, has 30 super specialty departments, except cancer, infertility and dental. It is planning to add departments such as cancer, infertility and dental in the third phase.
It is also planning to commence research, including gene therapy and stem cell research once the third phase is ready. Commenting on its future plans Dr Bhaskar Rao, said, "We are also planning to go across the nation once we establish good fame". However, he has not given any specific time frame for the same.
