Pharmaceutical Export Promotion Council (Pharmexcil) will be organising interactive sessions for its members with the authorities to take up their grievances and get redressed, in different parts of the country. First of the planned series of open houses will be held in Delhi on July 3 with senior officials including DCGI Dr Surinder Singh attending it. Depending on the success of the session in Delhi, the Pharmexcil will organise more such meetings again in Delhi and other regions. The agency was already into collecting the issues from the members to be discussed at the meet, Pharmexcil executive director Dr P V Appaji told Pharmabiz. Besides DCGI, export commissioner Sanjay Rastogi and advisor with Department of Science and Technology Dr Samathanam have confirmed their participations. The agency is also trying to bring other senior officials from Chemicals, Health and Ayush departments for the meet so that members, especially from the small and medium sector, can interact with them. ``This is going to be a good platform for the members to raise their concerns with the authorities. We will prepare a report on their issues raised and pursue them to be resolved by the concerned departments. We are taking all steps to have maximum number of exporters, manufacturers and others related to pharmaceutical industry for the event,'' Dr Appaji said. Besides, interacting with the authorities, the meet is also expected to throw open opportunities for networking between the members. Many of the small scale players in the country have been pressing for a similar attempt by the government agency to get the senior officials from the ministries of Commerce, Finance, Health and Chemicals together to address the issues of manufacturers especially in the northern region.
