Anjan Roy of RL Fine Chem elected new KDPMA president

Karnataka Drugs and Pharmaceuticals Manufacturers Association (KDPMA) has elected Anjan K Roy, managing director, RL Fine Chem as its new president. He succeeds Ravi Shankar, executive director Strides Arcolab Limited. Jatish N Seth, director, Srushti Pharmaceuticals Pvt. Ltd., is the new secretary and Sunil Attavar, managing director, Group Pharmaceuticals is the joint secretary. The new president said efforts will be made to make a representation to the Karnataka government which is in the process preparing the draft of the new industrial policy to provide ample focus to the pharmaceutical sector which is a knowledge driven sector like the information technology. Currently, KDPMA has 53 members. Karnataka has around 205 units in the bulk drug and formulation segments with a turnover of Rs. 3,500 crore registering a growth rate of 11 percent and exports touching at Rs. 2200 crore.
