Fourth AGM of Pharmexcil held at Hyderabad

Various prominent industry members of pharmaceutical industry and senior executives attended the technical session organized at the fourth AGM of Pharmaceuticals Export Promotion Council (Pharmexcil) at Hotel Taj Deccan, Banjara Hills, Hyderabad on September 12. The list of new members elected for the Committee of Administration (COA) for the years 2008-10 in the recently held elections was announced by the returning officer, M Gopinath, JDGFT, Hyderabad. Venkat Jasti, chairman of Pharmexcil welcomed B N Singh the newly elected member for the COA. Dr Todd Cecil, vice president, Compendial Sciences, US Pharmacopoeia, who is a prominent expert, delivered a lecture at the technical session 'Quality by Design' on the occasion. While Dr G M Bagai, scientist F, Department of Science & Technology enlighthened the participants on 'Incentives & Schemes of DST'. Jasti and other members expressed their optimism for growth of exports from pharmaceutical sector during the ensuing year and predicted that India is poised to become a global hub for contract research and new drug discovery. Various members present reviewed the performance of the council and conveyed their satisfaction.
