5-day meet on 'new development in drug discovery from natural products' at NIPER from Nov 16

The National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER) at Mohali, Punjab is organising an international conference on 'new development in drug discovery from natural products and traditional medicines', from November 16 to 20, 2008. The five-day conference will have a comprehensive coverage of 10 different scientific aspects of natural product-based drug discovery. The conference will witness excellent scientific presentations to be delivered by plenary, invited speakers and short oral presentations from outstanding young researchers. The organisers have invited a galaxy of well known scientists and speakers for the event. Plenary speakers from renowned academia and industry are expected to take part in the conference. Delegates coming from different regions of the world will share their new ideas, build networks and foster friendships. More than 500 delegates from different parts of the world are expected to take part in the five-day event. It will be a good opportunity for the young scientist to present posters. There arrangement available for about 300 posters in the conference. There will be brainstorming sessions during panel discussions. The five-day even will be a good opportunity for showcasing new products and recent technologies. There will be more than 50 exhibition booths in the conference. NIPER is the first national level institute in pharmaceutical sciences with a proclaimed objective of becoming a centre of excellence for advanced studies and research in pharmaceutical sciences. The Government of India has declared NIPER as an 'Institute of National Importance'. It is an autonomous body set up under the aegis of Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers. The Institute is conceived to provide leadership in pharmaceutical sciences and related areas not only within the country, but also to the countries in South East Asia, South Asia and Africa. It has been conducting seminars, workshops and conferences to showcase the latest developments in the pharma industry.
