To bring awareness to the exporters of drug intermediates to European Union countries about the Registration, Evaluation and Authorization of Chemicals (REACH) which is the new EU law, Chemexcil, in association with Pharmexcil, is organizing a series of seminars at different parts of the country from October 10 to 13. Under the new law, fine chemicals or drug intermediates are required to be registered for exporting to EU countries. The Chemexcil has already started the pre-registration process. REACH is a new EU regulatory framework of the EU Commission which is aimed at improving the protection of human health and the environment through the better and earlier identification of the chemical substances. Under this system, all EU producers and importers will have to perform a chemical safety assessment of their products and will have to provide information to their customers in the supply chain. Accordingly, all exporters coming under dyes, chemicals & cosmetics right from one MT per year and above to EU will have to obtain registration. The first seminar on October 10 will be held in Kochi at Hotel Taj Residency, Marine Drive, Ernakulam The second seminar on October 11 will be in Hyderabad at Hotel 'Chancery' Hotel Green Park, Begumpet and the third seminar on October 13 will be held in Bangalore at Dr. Rajkumar International, 108, 6th Cross, Gandhinagar.
