IPA-Karnataka branch to organize one day seminar on GMP on Nov 29

Indian Pharmaceutical Association, Karnataka branch is organizing a one-day interactive seminar titled 'Coming to grip with GMP' on November 29, 2008 at Bangalore. The event has been scheduled to ensure that the pharma industry in Karnataka remains updated in the areas of good manufacturing practices (GMP). The small and medium scale units need to constantly keep abreast with the latest developments in the field. The key objective of the seminar is to remain updated in training and this is critical for the small and medium industry. The participants from the industry will have a comprehensive session on current good manufacturing practices and will need to follow and replicate what is taught, said Dr KR Premnath Shenoy, general secretary, IPA, Karnataka, Topics such as training and its relevance to quality, out of specification investigation, new innovations in packaging, new initiatives from the USFDA such as QbD, PAT and its relevance to India, salient features of new Intellectual Property and preparing for an audit, would be covered during the day long deliberations. The seminar will also provide an excellent opportunity to exchange ideas on topics of importance in the working of pharma industry and also seek advice on current topics bothering the technical staff in the every day operations. Experts form AstraZeneca, Biocon, Global Pharmatech, Unilever, Strides Arcolab and USP India would participate in the deliberations. Industry experts including Dr Praful Naik, Kaushik Desai, Dr DBA Narayanan d Dr Sriram will be present. The seminar is targeted at the personnel representing the departments of quality control, production, quality assurance, regulatory affairs, members of teaching staff from pharmacy colleges and post graduate students from the pharmacy colleges.
