Ajanta Pharma has received approval from the government for its Inspira Pharma SEZ, a venture of Ajanta Projects (India) Ltd (APIL). A group company of Ajanta Pharma, APIL is setting up two separate Special Economic Zone (SEZs) for pharmaceutical and biotechnology at Aurangabad under the brand name of 'Inspira'. The biotechnology SEZ was notified in the month of August while the pharmaceutical SEZ has been notified in October. The pharma SEZ is spread across 100 hectares, whereas the biotech SEZ is on 10 hectares of land in 5-star MIDC industrial area of Shendra. Major advantages for units coming to these SEZs will be pharma/biotech hub of Aurangabad, accessibility to Mumbai port (just 7 hours) and world class infrastructure facilities proposed in Inspira SEZ. The concept of 'walk to work' and 'work to play' being envisaged in non processing area will make attractive destination for companies to get and retain best of the talents. Halcrow Consultants, UK are carrying out master planning for both the SEZs, which will ensure perfect blend of traditional businesses, professional approach, aesthetics and environmental conservation. "Our theme 'Inspired by the world-class' aims to provide best of facilities to companies setting up their manufacturing and R&D units in Inspira SEZs. We will invite only R&D and formulation units in the SEZ to avoid any environmental hazards," said Ravi Agrawal, executive director, APIL.
