International meet on Molecular Medicine on Jan 18 to 20 in Chennai

The Chennai-based Laila Pharmaceuticals Pvt Ltd, part of the Laila group of companies, is organizing an International Conference on Molecular Medicine at the Indian Institute of Technology here on 18th, 19th and 20th of January 2009. The conference is organized in association with Florida International University, Miami Children's Hospital, International American University, National Institutes of Health-us, FDA, Indian Institute of Technology, Sri Ramachandra Medical College and Stella Maris College for women, Chennai. The joint co-coordinator of the Conference, C Rebecca said the major theme of the conference is the application of molecular medicine in drug discovery with special reference to different aspects of therapeutic applications. She said the conference will also consist of two mini symposia, one on metabolic disorders and the other on phyto-pharmaceuticals. A special session on regulatory issues, venture funding and investments, pharma licensing deals and business outsourcing in life sciences has been included in the programme. The major part of the symposium will cover different aspects of research related to pre-clinical development and clinical development. For those who are working on HIV/AIDS, there are several speeches on the latest research going on in this field. Over 35 speakers from the US alone have agreed to deliver talks related to their areas of research. Pharmexcil has also confirmed its participation in this conference. A number of pharma companies from India and abroad will also be participating in the programme.
