Pharmexcil to hold business exchange workshop on Ayurveda on Dec 17 in Jaipur

The Pharmaceuticals Export Promotion Council (Pharmexcil) is organising a Business Exchange Workshop, an interactive meeting with overseas delegates, on December 17. The workshop will be held at National Institute of Ayurveda campus located in Jaipur, Rajasthan. The business interaction is being organised during the 3rd World Ayurveda Congress 2008 (WAC), a prestigious show on Ayurveda organised by Vijnana Bharati and National Institute of Ayurveda and supported by Department of Ayush, Union ministry of health and government of Rajasthan. WAC is being organised from December 16 to 21. This interaction would be mainly focussing on exploring opportunities in Ayurveda and alternative medicines, besides awareness on CITES, schemes of Government. The Pharmexcil has invited overseas buyers, experts and regulators for the Business Exchange Workshop on December 17. The International Delegates who are expected to participate in the Workshop included Dr Kiran Lal, Persada Tropika Sdn Bhd, Malaysia, Dr Danister L Perara, Ayurveda Formulatory Board, Department of Ayurveda, Sri Lanka, Dr Wolfgang Schachinger, President, URAMA, Dr Harsha Gramminger, European Ayurveda Association, Germany and Giuseppina Ledda, World Movement and Ayurveda, Italy. The 3rd World Ayurvedic Congress & AROGYA 2008 (WAC 2008) is being organised in Jaipur from 16 to 21 December. While the Arogya Expo will begin on December 16, the WAC will begin on December 19. Union minister for health & family welfare Dr Anbumani Ramadoss is scheduled to inaugurate the event where minister of state for commerce & power Jairam Ramesh is expected to be the chief guest. The theme of the Congress is 'mainstreaming ayurveda'. Around 5,000 delegates from different parts of the world are expected to attend this world ayurvedic event. Delegates from Malaysia, Sri Lanka and erstwhile CIS countries will be present in the Congress. Besides, representatives from over 10 European and US based ayurvedic sector associations are also attending WAC 2008.
