Anglo-French Drugs (AFD) and Industries' Peenya (Bangalore) facility has received approval from National Drug Authority, Uganda to supply pharmaceutical formulations (tablets) for a period of three years. NDA Uganda is known for the strict evaluation parameters and an approval from them speaks of the strong manufacturing and quality parameters followed at AFD Peenya plant. The inspection took place in the month of September and the final Audit report post approval from the NDA Uganda was received in November 2008. The Peenya plant was constructed in the year 1996/97 and is WHO GMP approved. Products are manufactured in the controlled conditions at temperature and humidity. This gives the products better stability. The shelf life of their star brand Bepex Forte tablets is 30 months which is unique in the Indian market. "Few counties have initiated plant approvals as part of mandatory requirement for registering and supplying of products to their market. Our plant undergoes such mandatory inspections from authorities. The last audit that we faced was from National Drug Authority, Uganda. This was a two day inspection covering all manufacturing and quality procedures and systems", says Kiran Das, GM - Exports & Herbals, Anglo-French. With operations in Africa, Russia and other CIS countries, the exports division too is poised to leap forward, with products being registered in the middle-east, south East Asia and Latin America. Anglo-French Drugs and Industries is an 85 year old pharmaceuticals firm, importing and selling pharmaceutical products, with manufacturing facilities in Peenya (Bangalore) and Pithampur (Madhya Pradesh).
