The Generic Pharmaceutical Association (GPhA) of United State of America (USA) is conducting its silver jubilee annual meeting this year at Naples, Florida from February 23 to 25 to celebrate the past and define the future of generic medicines in the 25th year of bringing affordable medicine in the country. The GPhA 2009 annual meeting to be held at the Ritz-Carlton, Naples beach resort, Florida, is expected to attract attention from both the industry and the administration as the 25th anniversary of the Hatch-Waxman Act. With the new government, which shows interest to support generic medicines to increase access to affordable healthcare, is assuming power in the second half of January, the meeting also has its importance in discussion on major policy changes. The event is scheduled to kick-off with a new feature presentation, 'CEOs Unplugged'. The fresh unique session will be a platform for candid discussion among industry executives on future challenges and opportunities facing the generic industry. Every year more than 500 attendees gather at the GPhA annual event to hear first-hand how critical economic, regulatory and legislative issues will impact the generic industry and the entire pharmaceutical sector. "Each year we attract leading speakers from Wall Street, Washington DC and across the globe. We also offer unparalleled networking opportunities -- making GPhA's annual meeting the generic industry event of the year," the organisers said. Building upon the success of prior years, the annual meeting business exposition of GPhA which offers interaction with attendees inside the exhibit hall, the organiser will facilitate more networking time for its exhibitors with key, industry decision-makers. Over three days, GPhA's annual meeting is a gathering place for more than 500 presidents, CEOs, vice presidents and other top executives from the US generic industry. By exhibiting at this event, participants can gain exposure to the leaders of the US generic pharmaceutical industry, as well as national and international business, government and policy decision-makers, added the organisers.
