Seminar on 'dissolution method development & prediction of in vivo performance' in Chennai on Jan 30

The Tamil Nadu branch of the Indian Pharmaceutical Association and the Tamil Nadu Pharmaceutical Sciences Welfare Trust (TNPSWT) will jointly organize 'Dissolution Method Development and Prediction of in Vivo Performance' seminar on January 30 in Chennai. The function will be held at hotel Palmgrove at 6.30 pm. Dr D Sampath Kumar, general manger, R & D, Shasun Chemicals and Drugs, Puducherry, will speak on the subject. K Sundara Swami, director of drugs control, Tamil Nadu will release Pharma Web, the newsletter of TNPSWT at the function. R Narayana Swami, president of IPA and J Jayaseelan, secretary will also participate in the seminar. Dissolution method or testing is a sequence of complex process that includes preparation of the test material, sample collection and processing, and analysis to determine the amount of drug substance released. The dissolution properties of a drug determine its release profile to match the product specifications. Dissolution Testing should be performed in GLP-compliant laboratory. 'In vivo' refers to experimentation done in or on the living tissue of a whole, living organism as opposed to a partial or dead one or a controlled environment. Animal testing and clinical trials are forms of in vivo research.
