Natco Pharma, a Rs 325 crore Hyderabad-based pharma, has reported better performance during the third quarter ended December 2008. Its consolidated net profit improved by 5.9 per cent to Rs 12.11 crore from Rs 11.43 crore in the similar period of last year. Its net sales touched to Rs 110.20 crore as against Rs 89.66 crore, a growth of 22.9 per cent. The earning per share moved up to Rs 4.32 from Rs 4.09 in the last period.
The company's standalone net sales and net profit improved by 13.8 per cent and 5.3 per cent respectively during the third quarter. Its formulations sales increased by 25.9 per cent to Rs 43.31 crore from Rs 34.40 crore and that of bulk chemicals improved to Rs 25.89 crore from Rs 24.95 crore.
For the nine months ended December 2008, the company's consolidated net sales increased by 12.5 per cent to Rs 32.71 crore from Rs 29.07 crore in the similar period of last year. Its net sales moved up by 29 per cent to Rs 311.62 crore from Rs 241.50 crore.
