Torrent Pharma appoints IBM India for technological upgradation

IBM has been selected by Torrent Pharmaceuticals for consulting services including upgrading of SAP application and hardware infrastructure. This partnership will help Torrent Pharma gear up for the next level of growth. As part of the engagement, IBM will also help Torrent comply with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), through use of Parallel Ledger functionality in New General Ledger (New GL). IBM will enhance the Disaster Recovery (DR) processes at Torrent Pharma to ensure a near-zero data loss model. In addition, the engagement will help Torrent upgrade their hardware infrastructure, in order to address the higher power usage that Torrent would need for running the new version of SAP (ECC 6.0). Torrent is in a phase of rapid growth and was looking for a consulting partner to upgrade infrastructure. IBM was chosen after Request for Proposals (RFP) were invited and evaluated from many SAP implementers in the country.
