ICRI, Cranfield Univ, UK open admissions for PG course in clinical research

Institute of Clinical Research (India), ICRI in collaboration with Cranfield University, UK has called for applications for its two year full time course, MSc in Clinical Research. The course will start on August 3 at all its campuses in Bangalore, Mumbai, Delhi, Ahmedabad & Hyderabad. MSc in clinical research from Cranfield University, UK, administered by ICRI, offers students the advantage of studying under a team of highly-qualified faculty from both UK and India. Students will have the option of completing part of the second year in UK itself. The Institute also provides internships during the last four months in the industry's best multi-national organizations. The teaching methodologies and experienced faculty at ICRI are instrumental in giving the industry Clinical Research professionals who are competent to take up responsible tasks within the industry. ICRI is the only institute that offers a post graduate degree in Clinical Research. The Course content for the ICRI Clinical Research Program for the first year will offer Biomedical Basis of Disease (Integrated Teaching in Medicine), General Pharmacology, organization and functions of various systems including drug used in the management of various diseases, Preclinical, toxicity studies, evaluation of drugs and Indian regulatory framework, Drug discovery and development and Clinical Data Management In the second year, the students will be have to study the Experimental Methods in Research Design and Methodology, Experimental Methods II in Advanced Design and Analysis, Business Management and Health Economics, Preclinical Evaluation, Research Governance and Ethics. Under the Clinical Evaluation, there will be four segments which include Practical and Scientific Perspectives of Translational Medicine, Commercial Aspects and Implications Affecting Clinical Research, Regulatory Requirements and Seeking Approval, and Clinical Research - Marketing Interface Research Project. In addition, students will also have site visits to pharma companies, clinical research organisations, Site Management Organisations and BA/BE units and hospitals where trials are being conducted. There will also be industry training in India/Cranfield, UK. The other key highlights are Regular Workshops, Pre-Clinical site visit including Bio Availability / Bio Equivalence Study Centers. There is also a well-equipped Computer Lab with Internet Facilities enabling them in Data Searches and Computer aided decision-making. In addition a Library on Clinical Research with latest books, periodicals, newspapers, journals, prints and records are available for reading & reference will provide students with much assistance. All the campuses are Wi-Fi enabled, with Smart Board Facilities. It is open only to students who have completed a BSc/MSc in Life Sciences (Microbiology, Genetics, Biotech, Biology, Chemistry) M Pharma, B Pharma, MBBS, BAMS, BHMS, BSc Nursing, Bioinformatics and BDS. The selection process will be through a written test, personal interview and screening with selection of students based on merit only.
