In a bid to offer the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry a dedicated sourcing platform, Reed Exhibitions, a noted leading events organiser, and International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering (ISPE), the world's largest not-for-profit association dedicated to educating and advancing pharmaceutical manufacturing professionals and their industry, would jointly hold Interphex Asia 2009 at SUNTEC Singapore, Singapore from June 1 to 2, 2009. Interphex Asia assumes more importance this year, as big names in the pharmaceutical industry are increasingly outsourcing their manufacturing activities to Asian countries to take advantage of cost efficiencies, capacities and skilled labour. In fact, companies such as Pfizer and AstraZeneca outsource more than 30 per cent of their manufacturing to Asia. Interphex Asia 2009 is expected to act as a platform to reach new markets, launch new products, enhance brand visibility, build relationships and widen distribution channels. "Interphex Asia 2009, part of the Interphex family of events, is Asia's dedicated sourcing platform for the regional pharmaceutical manufacturing industry. This year, Interphex Asia would provide the opportunity to meet international suppliers to forge partnerships, exchange ideas and to discover new developments and solutions for related dedicated manufacturing processes within the industry. Take this opportunity to see and discuss the latest in manufacturing technology and to source new suppliers," said the organisers of Interphex Asia. This year, the main attraction of Interphex Asia 2009 would be the co-held ISPE Singapore Conference. With a theme of Advancing Excellence and Innovation in Regional Pharmaceutical Manufacturing, the ISPE Singapore Conference would be held from May 31 to June 2 at SUNTEC Singapore. "ISPE Singapore Conference 2009 would provide the regional pharmaceutical manufacturing industry with views and insights of more than 30 international and regional experts on issues pertaining to pharmaceutical manufacturing operations and processes. Conference participants will also be provided with an opportunity to visit pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities of GSK, MSD, Pfizer, Schering-Plough, Novartis and Genentech that are located in Singapore," appraised the event organisers. "Speakers at ISPE Conference will share practical insights and updates on the global pharmaceutical manufacturing industry, provide regulatory updates on key issues, and share views and lessons learnt on sustainable solutions, contract manufacturing, secondary pharmaceutical manufacturing, C&Q and validation issues, amongst others," they stressed. These two events are learnt to help the participants seek new opportunities and partnerships, exchange ideas and keep abreast of industry developments in Asia. Also, the events are expected to offer an opportunity to interact with international suppliers, industry regulators and pharmaceutical professionals from multinational and regional manufacturers in the region.
