Fortis Hospital ties up with US-based International Oncology Services

Fortis Hospital Noida has announced the launch of 'Fortis International Oncology Centre', Uttar Pradesh's most advanced and comprehensive centre for cancer, in an exclusive tie-up with US-based International Oncology Services Pvt Ltd (IOPL). Uttar Pradesh Governor T V Rajeswar recently inaugurated the facility aimed at bringing quality oncology services to the people in the national capital region and other parts of UP. IOPL is a cancer care and research services company, run by eminent American board certified doctors. The comprehensive cancer centre will be equipped to cover all aspects of oncology including medical oncology, surgical oncology, radiation therapy, bone marrow biopsy/aspirate, CRO and collaborative drug development, a release said here. The centre will have UP's first PET CT Scan, the technology that is considered to be the best in cancer diagnosis. PET CT Scan has revolutionized the field of medical diagnosis by adding precision of anatomic localization to functional imaging. Surgical planning, radiation therapy and cancer staging have been improved under the influence of PET CT. Fortis Noida is constructing a separate block for oncology covering an area of 30,000 square feet. This block is expected to be operational in third quarter FY 2010. IOSPL is a global company with expertise in cancer care and research, with the vision of being an eminent provider of top quality and affordable cancer care to masses. As part of the arrangement, IOSPL will be responsible for running and operating the centre as per Fortis standards of quality and patient care. IOSPL will bring the entire team of oncologists with Board Certifications from Europe and USA. IOSPL has a strategic collaboration with Albert Einstein Cancer Centre, New York for research and treatment, technology transfer, on-going training of doctors and staff from India, clinical trials and physicist services, radiation planning services etc.
