Dr Gautam Allahbadia took over as president of the Mumbai Obstetric and Gynaecological Society (MOGS) - the youngest president in its 75 year history. He is organizing a joint Indo-Israeli Year wherein leading doctors from Israel would come to Mumbai every quarter to demonstrate their specialized skills and share information in endoscopy, sonography and infertility. Seven Israeli Medical Organizations are supporting the Mumbai Obstetric & Gynecological Society (MOGS) this year. Israel is sending 14 world leaders in their respective disciplines. Theme for MOGS this year is: 'Technology Saves Lives. Let us learn from the best'.
Dr Allahbadia is a leading fertility physician of international renown based in Mumbai's suburb of Bandra, with several of his 'Rotunda Centers' spread in cities across the country. He is also Medical Director of Deccan Fertility Clinic and Keyhole Surgery Center at Dadar- India's first budget IVF center. The practice at Deccan Fertility Clinic and Keyhole Surgery Center is restricted to treating infertile patients exclusively, and the clinic offers patients the very best medical care - at affordable prices.
Dr Allahbadia highlighted the similarities between the two countries and the technological advances of Israel to show how Mumbai doctors would benefit from the interaction. After Dr Allahbadia's efforts, Israel has graciously agreed to help her developing sister country by sending leading doctors who will share their knowledge and expertise.
Dr Allahbadia said, "Israel is a first world country doing cutting edge research in infertility and fetal medicine and genetics and has well established protocols and procedures in endoscopy and oncology. The Indo-Israeli Year presents an exciting new means to help physicians from India and Israel to establish a vibrant partnership. This is going to be one of the first official academic collaborations between the two countries ever since they both achieved independence over 60 years ago."
With several international fertility congresses organized, the doctor is no stranger to holding academic programmes and hosting renowned doctors from all over the world - the US, UK, France, Germany, Iran, Turkey, Greece, Finland, Singapore and of course Israel. Being trained at several centers in various continents he emphasized the importance of interaction between the advanced and developing countries.
