Nektar Therapeutics has appointed Pushpinder Bindra as managing director of the India operations of the company, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Nektar Therapeutics. He will now report directly to Nektar's chief operating officer, Dr Bharatt Chowrira.
In this newly created position, Bindra will oversee all of Nektar's operations in India, including research, chemistry, manufacturing and control activities, as well as manage the new, 16-acre, 60,000 square foot, state-of-the-art research and development facility under construction. This is expected to be completed in August of this year.
During his approximately 30-year career, among other achievements, Bindra played a pivotal role in the successful transformation of Ranbaxy Laboratories. "His proven leadership abilities, coupled with extensive expertise in global manufacturing will be invaluable to Nektar as we continue to expand within this key market," stated Dr Chowrira.
Prior to joining Nektar, Bindra, was chief operations officer and a member of the Board of Directors of Glenmark Generics Limited, India, where he provided leadership across multiple areas of the company including research and development, manufacturing, quality assurance and finance.
