Dr Batra's tie up with US-based Nu/Hat to launch joint venture

The chain of super-speciality healthcare clinics of Dr Batra's and the US-based Nu/Hart have announced the first-of-its-kind enterprise in global healthcare solutions, Dr Batras' Nu/Hart Hair Transplant Clinics, a 51:49 joint venture, in India. This strategic announcement highlights the shared objective of owning, building and driving the hair restoration market in India, which is backed by a cumulative expertise of five decades, having served clients across 68 countries worldwide. The joint venture will focus on hair transplant and hair re-growth solutions for the discerning consumers of the country. The state-of-the-art flagship clinic has already been opened in Mumbai. The average investment for the venture is estimated at Rs 20 crore over the next three years, a release said. Speaking on the new alliance, Batra's founder and CMD Dr Mukesh Batra said, "We are pleased to join hands with Nu/Hart, USA, to bring the latest in hair transplantation solutions to India. With this new union, Dr Batra'sÒ aims at being a one stop solutions provider, specializing in hair related matters. It is a matter of pride that we shall be foraying into the speciality markets beyond homeopathy for the first time." Nu/Hart, USA has a domain exposure of over 20 years in the hair restoration business and its renowned surgeons have performed over 30,000 procedures on clients from over 40 countries. The core team at Nu/Hart comprises highly-specialized and technologically advanced expert surgeons who offer high quality services to ensure that their clients get satisfactory results. Elaborating on the venture, Kathy Smith, president, Nu/Hart International commented, "We are pleased to partner with Dr Batra's, the leaders in hair therapy with over 50 clinics pan India and are confident that owing to this venture, start up as well as long terms benefits will ensue. According to Dr Akshay Batra, deputy managing director Dr Batra's group, "Hairfall can be an indicator of various diseases. 60 per cent of Indian women lose hair due to low iron levels. Balding patterns have been changing significantly with more and more youngsters getting affected. In fact, there has been a 250 per cent rise in the incidence of baldness in the age group of 16 to 25 years within the past five years. We have always strived to bring the best hair care solutions to our patients and hence, hair transplantation is a natural extension of our services." Under this new alliance, Dr Mukesh Batra will hold the position of chairman and Dr Akshay Batra will be the director for the Indian operations.
