Tamil Nadu Dr MGR Medical University will conduct a two-day medical and paramedical job and study fair on the university's Guindy premises on May 30 and 31.
The Fair, 'Catch 2009', will be inaugurated on May 29, at 5 pm, by state health minister M R K Panneerselvam, who would be the chief guest, and V K Subburaj, principal secretary, Health, will preside over the function.
Sources from the University said, pharmaceutical firms and other companies will have stalls in the fair where students can seek employment opportunities. The stalls will host colleges affiliated to the university. Around 300 institutions are affiliated to the university and they offer courses in disciplines including medicine, dentistry, nursing, physiotherapy, pharmacy and naturopathy. The fair will be held from 9 am to 6 pm on both days.
Students who have finished their HSC, degree and PG courses are being targeted for this fair. They will be provided information on courses by the members of the Directorate of Medical Education. Besides, experts from various fields will talk to the students in different sessions. Representatives of foreign universities will also take part to provide information on courses abroad.
