AICTE sponsors seminar on Drug Delivery Technology in mid July

All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) has sanctioned a grant of Rs 1.5 lakh to Swami Vivekananda College of Pharmacy in Elayampalayam in Namakkal district in Tamil Nadu for conducting a two-day seminar on Drug Delivery Technology. Last year the college had applied for the grant along with a proposal of the programme and same was sanctioned this year. The seminar on 'Future Trends in Drug Delivery Technology for Global Trade of Pharmaceuticals' will be held at the campus of the college on the second week of July. The two-day seminar includes lecturers and discussions on various topics on pharmacy and allied subjects, said Dr V Ganeshan, principal of the college. The seminar will be attended by professors of various pharmacy colleges from India and abroad. Special invitations have been sent to some eminent professors of pharmacy and life sciences of some reputed pharmacy colleges in the USA. The principal said lecturers, professors and Master of Pharmacy students are only allowed to participate in the seminar. Representations of every state in the country will be ensured. From Indian Universities, four resource persons have already been selected, Dr Ganeshan told pharmabiz. Besides academicians, technical experts from foreign and domestic pharma companies, representing Quality Assurance and Research & Development, are expected in the seminar. The seminar will be a great event of pharmacy covering areas of production, technology, marketing and academics. The principal said his college is waiting for the approval of AICTE for starting the new Pharm D course from this academic year.
