The Biomedical Informatics Centre at National Institute for Research in Reproductive Health (NIRRH), Mumbai is organizing a three-day workshop from June 16 to 18 on 'Creation of databases using Microsoft Access'. The workshop is being fully supported by Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).
The topics to be addressed during the workshop include introduction to databases, creation and management of tables and queries, designing forms and generation of reports. The mode of training would be through lectures followed by hands-on sessions. This workshop will be useful for social workers, clinicians, academicians and scientists who are involved in activities that lead to the generation of voluminous data that are difficult to be managed on conventional paper-based system.
The eligibility criteria for applicants include a MBBS or postgraduate degree along with a regular position in a recognized academic, health or research institution of India.
The ICMR has called the interested people to apply to attend the workshop which will be free of cost. The last date for receipt of applications is June 10, 2009 and only a maximum of 25 candidates will be selected for the three-day workshop.
