ISPE to host event to showcase award-winning pharma facilities in Germany from Nov 2

ISPE, a global not-for-profit association of 24,000 pharmaceutical science and manufacturing professionals, is hosting a pioneering European event to showcase award-winning pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities at its Facility of the Year Innovation Showcase 2009 being held 2 to 3 November in Ulm, Germany. "The Innovation Showcase will provide a unique opportunity for pharmaceutical science and manufacturing professionals to discover practical examples of the latest, state-of-the-art, and truly innovative developments being implemented by pharmaceutical manufacturers today," said host Dr Berthold Duethorn, director of Validation Services for Robert Bosch GmbH. The Innovation Showcase 2009 will allow attendees to meet representatives and suppliers of Boehringer Ingelheim, Centocor, F Hoffman-La Roche, hameln pharma, IDT Biologika, Pfizer, Vetter Pharmaceuticals, as well as the opportunity to visit several of their award-winning facilities. Attendees will learn how each of the companies achieved excellence during the execution of major pharmaceutical projects without disruption of on-going operations in sometimes challenging site environments. Presentations will cover research, development and clinical trials manufacturing, biologics, vaccines, sterile fill/ finish and oral solid dosage production. In the last three years, companies from the Germany/ Austria/ Switzerland region have won many of the awards presented by the Facility of the Year Awards programme, an annual programme co-sponsored by ISPE, Interphex, and /Pharmaceutical Processing/ magazine that spotlights the accomplishments, shared commitment, and dedication of individuals in companies worldwide to innovate and advance pharmaceutical manufacturing technology for the benefit of all global consumers.
