Taking lead in tackling growing infertility issues amongst couples in the most scientific manner, German fertility management group Morphues is planning to enter India by establishing a chain of fertility centres across the country starting with Mumbai. The company is all set to open its first three centres in Mumbai, Pune and Nashik in next one week and plans to add five more centres over next 2 to 3 months in other major cities in India. The new Morpheus fertility centres are equipped with the latest embryology equipment imported from leading suppliers around the globe. Some of the advanced techniques in the field of fertility management like laser hatching, IMSI for sperm selection, spindle detection system for insemination are incorporated in the embryology procedures at these centres. The centres are equipped to conduct all Assisted Reproductive Techniques (ART) procedures like IUI, IVF, ICSI and IMSI, Egg and Embryo Donation, Zona Bifringerence and more. The German promoters of Morpheus Life Sciences Pvt Ltd have extensive experience in the field of fertility management spanning over two decades, having performed altogether more than 30,000 IVF cycles till date through their various associated fertility centres in Germany. Morpheus plans to bring this expertise to Indian patients seeking fertility treatment combined with the knowledge pool of some of the leading gynaecologists in India who have partnered Morpheus in this project. The Morpheus fertility centres which are formed in partnership with leading gynaecologists will offer patients ‘standardised treatment’ in terms of protocol management, embryological procedures, drugs and media selection and professional counselling guidance. These new labs would be managed with highly qualified and skilled in-house team of embryologists, who are specially trained in conducting ICSI procedure, which are vital in today’s environment to get good success rates. The Indian joint venture - Morpheus ART recently conducted a seminar in Mumbai on 'Infertility Management and Care' which was inaugurated by Dr Shirish Daftary, a renowned gynaecologist. In presence of key board members of the German group – Dr Arvind Chandra, director Morpheus and a leading gynaecologist, shared his views on Economic Implication of Mild Stimulation and Dr Michael Dumschat, director Morpheus and specialist in Ultrasound and Pre natal diagnostics highlighted on the evolution of ART over last three centuries. Experts felt that in conservative society like India as well as neighbouring Asian countries, causes of infertility are many and are often not treated on time. This causes marital strain and social trauma amongst families. Adequate education along with timely medical counselling can help couples to address the problem and find effective solutions.
