The parents of the child Animesh Maithy from Midnapore district of West Bengal had lost all hopes of saving their son from brain tumour. They were then referred to HCG and consulted professor G Killara, consultant, Radiation Oncologist, who recommended CyberKnife.
Bogged down by paucity of funds, the case was referred to Dr Ajaikumar B S, chairman, HCG, who looked into the urgency of undergoing this surgery to save the child and consented to treat the child free of cost. After the success of Robotic Radiosurgery, Animesh is leading a normal life.
