Following an order from the Central Administrative Tribunal, Dr S Bhoopathiraj, the former director of the National Institute of Siddha in Tambaram in Chennai has rejoined the institute as its director. The director was terminated from the post of director of NIS in September last year by the Ayush Department following the completion of his probation term. The department had not regularized his appointment due to various reasons. Against this decision of the department, he had approached the CAT and pleaded for the continuation of his term as director. When contacted over telephone Dr P K Jha, director of Ayush said the department did not receive any certified copy from the CAT. However, the department will go for an appeal in the High Court of Madras against the said order. “Once we get the copy, we will approach the Madras High Court. Till a judgement from the court comes out, the content of the letter will be complied in letter and spirit”, Dr Jha told Pharmabiz. But, in spite of many attempts to contact Dr Bhoopathiraj, he refused to speak.
