AMMOI felicitates Dr P K Warrier, E T Narayanan Mooss in Thrissur

Dr P K Warrier, managing trustee of the Kerala-based Kottakkal Arya Vaidya Sala, and Ashtavaidyan E T Narayanan Mooss, both of whom were honoured with 'Padmabhushan' awards recently, have been felicitated by the Ayurvedic Medicine Manufacturers Organization of India (AMMOI) in a function organized in Thrissur in Kerala. While speaking on the occasion, state health minister PK Sreemathi has lauded the significant contributions made by the Padmabhushan awardees to the growth of Ayurveda system across the country and abroad. She has called upon the various agencies of Ayurveda to work together for the development of the age old system of treatment. Revenue minister K P Rajendran, who also attended the function to felicitate the doyens of Ayurveda, said the recognition was for their dedication and selfless services to society. In the reply speech by Dr Warrier, he said even in modern times the ancient system has not lost its prominence and identity. Though a lot of super specialty hospitals are coming up, number of patients for Ayurveda is also increasing. Dr K Ramanathan, general secretary of AMMOI said with their exceptional and distinguished services of high order to Ayurveda, the two traditional physicians have made significant contribution to national life and have taken Ayurveda to privileged levels of acceptance among the world community. Ashtavaidyan Cheriya Narayanan Nampoothiri has delivered the blessing speech. Chief guest Dr S K Sharma, advisor, Ayush, New Delhi delivered the Key Note address and Therambil Ramakrishnan MLA presided over the meeting.
