Tectura India, the largest partner for 'Microsoft Dynamics' is gearing up to increase its market opportunities in the pharma-biotech sector. The software which is an ERP, CRM and technology solution is marketed as Tectura Life Sciences for NAV. The company has implemented over 80 projects in manufacture and distribution for the life sciences sector which includes pharma, medical device, clinical research, and healthcare.
The solution is an integrated ERP based on Microsoft technology. While there are number of ERP applications in the market, only a few can fully address the Life Sciences marketplace requirements. Tectura Life Sciences for NAV satisfies the specific requirements of Indian Life Sciences organizations. Going by the increasing interest for ERP solutions for improved efficiencies and economies of scale which is gaining momentum in the life sciences space, Tectura is looking to grab a share of the orders.
"Since the launch of the solution in 2003, we have been faring well in the Indian life sciences space. A number of established as well as emerging Life Sciences organizations are adopting this solution. We have seen a growth in the new customer acquisition," Chetan Pathak, country manager Tectura India told Pharmabiz in an email interaction.
The industry solution Life Sciences, like all the solutions from Tectura, has been created according to the development guidelines of Microsoft Dynamics. This product is positioned as a leading Life Sciences solution catering active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), formulation, CFA and CNF distribution & Devices. "Our objective is to have more reference able customers in Life Science and Pharmaceutical Industry enabling word-of-mouth publicity. We use Electronic Data Mailers (EDMs) for lead generation. We also organize vertical industry seminars to disseminate information about the product," he added.
There are products like SAP and Oracle along with a number of small players addressing partial requirements of this space. But Tectura Life Sciences for NAV has a distinct edge over its competitors along multiple dimensions. These include an implementation methodology which allows faster completion of projects. Another advantage according to the company is the lower Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
The company has also set up Life Sciences Centre of Excellence in India, which supports not only the customers in India but also the customers across Asia Pacific region.
"However, there are a several features that provide value to Life Sciences organizations with our product. These are real-time traceability, hazardous Substances Management, Integrated Lab Information Management System (LIMS) and ability to address both process and discrete Manufacturing processes," stated Pathak.
The company also has a strategy for ERP training covering key user, and end user. It also recommends "Train the trainer" concept.
