CIPMMA holds its third Annual Convention on May 1 in Madurai

The Consortium of Indian Pharmaceutical Manufacturers and Marketers Association (CIPMMA) is holding its third annual convention in the temple city of Madurai on May 1. The Convention, which will be held at Hotel Gateway, will be inaugurated by the principal secretary of Health, Government of Tamil Nadu, V K Subburaju. The souvenir will be released in the function by V Manohar, Superintend of Police, Madurai. V Muthu, chairman of Idhayam Group will conduct the key note address. While briefing about the programme, A Kannan, secretary of the Association said, in the annual meeting, CIPMMA will take a concrete decision to join as a member to CIPI. The final round of discussion was already held with CIPI's president J Jaishankar. He said there is chance of election for new office-bearers for the next term. A Karunai Kadal, the vice-president of CIPMMA, said the association has given strict instructions to its stockists to collect expired goods from the retailers and they will be given credit notes either by marketers or manufacturers. The stockists and the marketers will keep proper records of all the goods delivered to the retail outlets. According to the date of expiry, the time-barred medicines will be called back from the market. According to him, the convention will pass a resolution that no expired drug will be circulated through any member of the organization. It will further try to sell all the products at a reasonable rate to the common people. He said CIPMMA has given assurance to the government that only quality products will be sold through their dealings. Currently P R Revishankar of Kinesis Pharmaceuticals is the president of the Association. M Karthikeya Prabhu is the vice-president.
