New US patent bolster Generex's intellectual property assets

Generex Biotechnology Corporation, leader in drug delivery for metabolic diseases through the inner lining of the mouth, has received a new patent in the United States. The Director of the United States Patent and Trademark Office has granted the company a patent titled, "Method for Administering Insulin to the Buccal Region", which can be viewed at www.uspto.gov. This new patent increases the number of patents related to the company's proprietary buccal drug delivery platform technologies to 158 issued patents, 22 of which are United States patents. Generex has a total of 105 patent applications pending in various jurisdictions around the world. "We continue to bolster the company's intellectual property protection with each new patent issuance," stated Rose C Perri, the company's chief operating officer. "The issuance of patents in key markets like the United States strengthens the company's intellectual property assets and is timely as our flagship product, Generex Oral-lyn, is available under the US FDA's expanded access Treatment IND programme.
