FEDTAP to elect new president, secretary at June 13 AGM in Hyderabad

The next Annual General Body Meeting (AGM) of the Federation of Drug Traders of Andhra Pradesh will be held on Sunday, June 13, at the FEDTAP Guest House in Hyderabad. The AGM will elect its new office-bearers, president and secretary, for a period of three years. P Subrahmaniam, secretary FEDTAP said there are two candidates contesting for the post of President and another two for Secretary’s post. According to the by-laws of the organization, a team of office-bearers can govern the body only for one time. K P Ranga Rao, president of Guntur District Chemists and Druggists Association and B Venkita Raju, president of East Godavari District Association have filed nominations for the post of president. Medak District Chemists and Druggists Association secretary, S Sathish Rao and the association’s East Karim Nagar district secretary, K Hariprabhakar are the candidates contesting for secretary’s post. The elected new president and the secretary will jointly nominate other office-bearers including the treasurer. Currently, P Jagadishwar is the president and P V Chandrasekhar is the treasurer for the organization. For the smooth conduct of the election, MVK Nageswara Rao, the Reforms Committee Chairman of FEDTAP, has been appointed as the Returning Officer. The Administrative Advisor, R Chunav is the Assistant Election Officer. A total of 60 members will cast their votes in the election as district presidents and secretaries and a few nominated members are only eligible to vote. FEDTAP is the federation of two associations of drug traders, Andhra Pradesh Drug Traders Association (APDTA) and Andhra Pradesh Chemists and Druggists Association (APCDA), working in the Telengana and Coastal and Rayalsima regions of the state. For getting affiliation to AIOCD, these two associations have merged into one, and now have a membership of more than 40,000 traders. The Association has presence in all the 23 districts of the state.
