After completing works to launch more than 100 generic brands in antibiotic, gastroenteritis, analgesics and multivitamin segments by the end of this month, the company has identified therapeutic segment of oncology as the next target area for its future expansion and operation. The new division is expected to be launched by the month of November this year, said J S Shinde, chairman, AIOCD Ltd. “We have completed our third launch, the introduction of Java division to sell generic drugs. The new division for oncology products will be established in October or November, 2010, with products consisting of generic and some important speciality products,” said Shinde. He added that launch of another two divisions will follow the introduction of the cancer care products division. The company, which has entered into distribution business almost two years back, is also planning to strengthen its logistics division by setting up a well planned logistic network. The network, which is expected to accelerate the marketing process of AIOCD Ltd's private label products, will be ready for operation in four months' time, he added. In July, 2010, the company has launched the Java division to market the AIO range of private label generic products manufactured through third party outsourcing throughout the country starting with distribution in 15 states in the initial stage. It has also launched 54 products in Mumbai as first phase of operation and is planning to come out with second set of another 50 products by the end of this month in New Delhi. The products are mostly manufactured in the Northern states, in tie-up with third party manufacturers, and the company has established its central warehouse in Ambala, Haryana to store the products. The Java division is envisaged to bring in Rs 50 crore turnover in the current financial year, and is expected to reach a turnover of Rs 120 crore in 2011-12, according to Shinde.
