The Department of Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Analysis, School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Vels University is conducting a seminar on “Aspects of pharmaceutical process analytical technology,” on August 14, 2010 at VIBA auditorium, at 10 am in the VELS University Campus.
The main objective of this seminar is to address the latest developments in Process Analytical Technology (PAT) in pharmaceutical industries. The seminar will be presided over by the Dr P Umapathy, general manager, Microlabs, Bangalore. This seminar is aimed at filling the lacuna of academic and industrial professionals on the continuously changing scenario of pharmaceutical quality assurance system. The speaker will throw light on the requirement for implementation of PAT in pharmaceutical manufacturing units.
The term PAT has been used to describe "a system for designing and controlling manufacturing through timely measurements (i.e. during processing) of critical quality and performance attributes for raw and in-process materials and also processes with the goal of ensuring final product quality". The PAT initiative focuses on building quality into the product and manufacturing processes, as well as continuous process improvement.
The seminar will be attended by Chancellor of Vels University, Dr Ishari K Ganesh, Dr Ramachandran, Vice-Chancellor, Professor N Anand, Pro Vice-chancellor (R&D), Dr P Govindarajan, Registrar and Dr V Ravichandiran, Director, School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Vels University to name a few.
