The All India Drugs Control Officers Confederation (AIDCOC) has honoured two drug controllers and 11 drug inspectors belong to 12 states with ‘Best Drug Inspector Award’ for 2010.
No officer of Tamil Nadu DCA got the prestigious award. The neighbouring state of Karnataka got two awards. The officers were selected for the awards considering their performance and social contribution to the society.
The Association has also honoured one manufacturer, Sanjay Gularia from Punjab, with ‘Dynamic Entrepreneur ‘award. The awards were distributed by professor Prem Kumar Dhumal, chief minister of Himachal Pradesh at the AIDCOC Convention 2010 held last week at Shimla.
The drug controllers who were honoured are Ashok Kumar Mittal, DC of Rajasthan and Karan Singh Godara, DC, Haryana.
The drug inspectors who got the awards are NR Bhattacharya (Delhi), Sujith Kumar (Jharkhand), Sukumar Das (West Bengal), Garima Sharma (Himachal Pradesh), NV Reghuram and M Suresh (Karnataka), R P Chaudhari (Maharashtra), Arvind Zala (Gujarat), Shaji M Varghese (Kerala), Kulvinder Singh (Punjab) and Suresh Babu (Andhra Pradesh).
This year’s AIDCOC convention was hosted by the Himachal Association of drug control officers and was attended by officers from all the states of India. Apart from chief minister Prem Kumar Dhumal, the state health minister, Dr Rajiv Bindal and health secretary P C Dhiman have also attended.
