India Pharma Summit to be held in Mumbai on Nov 30

India Pharma Summit, an annual event organized by the Department of Pharmaceuticals (DoP), Government of India in partnership with Federation of India Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) and UBM is back in its second edition this year to be held  at Nehru Centre Auditorium in Mumbai on November 30. The summit this year will continue to offer platform to address key issues, identify opportunities & challenges and chart a roadmap for India to take its rightful place, as a destination of choice for discovery, research, development and manufacturing.

Globally, nations are struggling to make available healthcare at affordable cost without compromising on quality. This one-day summit offers an opportunity to brainstorm with Industry leaders on how innovation can be converted into a viable business opportunity aligned with national priorities of healthcare for all.

The summit will be inaugurated by the  Minister of State for Chemicals & Fertilizers,  Srikant Jena and would see participation of other ministries and sectors related to healthcare–pharma, clinical research and medical devices. Arun Maira, Member Planning Commission will deliver keynote address in the inaugural session.

The summit will be concluded by a session on vision of secretaries on Rising and Way forward for affordability through innovation.

For this session, the  Department of Pharmaceuticals, Department of Science and Technology, Department of Biotechnology, Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, National Pharmaceuticals Pricing Authority and Ministry of Health and Family Welfare have been invited.

The deliberations during the summit is expected to serve as inputs for the Government of India as it chalks out programmes and incentives for discovery and innovation in the area of healthcare,  aligned with India’s unique national needs.
