Kadambi Supergamma Cancercare (KSC), a joint venture between Super Gamma Group, Hong Kong (SGG) and Kadambi Laser Vision Clinic & Research Foundation Pvt. Ltd., India (KLVC) has inked a pact with China’s Huiheng Medical Inc to market Linear Accelerators in India. The company has also plans to invest Rs.300 crore over the next 5 years which will be raised through private equity, sale of equipment and joint projects.
Huiheng Medical which is one of the leading suppliers of radiotherapy equipment in China has established sales network throughout the dragon land. It has adopted a structured global strategy with the establishment of it first overseas centre in Bangalore, through KSC.
With a fund infusion of Rs.12 crore from SGG, a venture capital company, the company is now gearing up to market the range of Linear Accelerators and supergamma knife systems. Going hand in hand with this is the effort by KSC to embark on plan to set up 20 Linear Accelerator and 10 Supergamma centres across India in the next five years for cancer care.
Our effort is provide reliable, high precision radiotherapy solutions at affordable prices. In this regard, we are creating an entry for Huiheng products into India. Also going by the increasing cancer incidence in India estimated to be around 2.5 million, with over 8,00,000 new cases and 5,50,000 deaths occurring each year due to this disease, there is a huge opportunity for diagnostics, Dr Vivek Kadambi, managing director, told Pharmabiz.
We are looking at Tier II and III cities which would include Nagpur, Salem, Aurangabad, among otheRs.We look at flexible financial model which would either be investments from our end to set up the centre or look at good business plan from an investor, he added.
The corporate structure of Huiheng Medical Inc. comprises Tibet Changdou Huiheng Development Co. Ltd. and three subsidiary holding companies: Shenzhen Hyper Technology Co. Ltd., Wuhan Kangqiao Medical New Technology Co. Ltd., and Beijing Yuankangbeite Nuclear Technology Co. Ltd. It has formed strategic alliance with many universities and research Institutes in China. The company is known for several innovations including “Automatic Multi-Leaf Collimators” and “Linear Accelerators”.
